Biden rebukes ‘mega MAGA trickle down’ policies amid poor polling on economy

President Biden tore up Republicans’ economic policy during Friday’s White House remarks, despite polls showing voters give him negative approval ratings on the issue.

Biden, speaking about the decline in the federal deficit, blamed slow progress on Republican opposition to his administration and dismissed the GOP economy as a “mega-MAGA trickle.”

“If the Republicans prevail, the deficit will skyrocket. The tax burden will fall on the middle class,” Biden warned on Friday.

“And Republicans are working really hard. And that was kind of – I have to admit they surprise me at times. They have three — not one, not two — three plans to cut Social Security benefits. Three plans. That’s not gonna stop there.”

Only 35% of registered voters approve of Biden’s handling of the economy, according to a Fox News poll released last week.

Biden has previously warned of economic disaster if Republicans take control of Congress, claiming their goal of repealing the Anti-Inflation Act will prove costly for US citizens.

ANALYSIS SUGGESTS THAT THE INFLATION REDUCTION ACT WILL REDUCE ANNUAL INFLATION BY ONLY 0.1 PERCENTAGE POINTS

“The #1 priority for Republicans in Congress is to repeal the Anti-Inflation Act,” Biden said in California last week. “That’s exactly the wrong thing to do at this moment. If Republicans take control of Congress, the daily cost will go up — not down.”

INFLATION MORE THAN EXPECTED IN SEPTEMBER AS PRICES REMAIN HIGH

“They will do Big Pharma’s bid to overturn my plan to allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices,” Biden warned Friday. “We pay the highest in the world. And as a result, drug prices will increase, and they will increase Big Pharma’s profits. They’re fine, Big Pharma, they don’t hurt at all. And they will increase your health insurance premiums.
