15 INITIATED AT MEDITATION CAMP
MORE than 40 people got together for a three-day Osho meditation camp in Kuala Lumpur recently where they learnt the active meditation methods taught by the mystic Osho. Another group got together in Malacca for a similar one-day retreat.
Swami Chaitanya Keerti from India conducted the camps and also initiated 15 of the participants into what he called the Osho Neo-Sannyas movement.
Keerti explained the movement was not a traditional sannyas (renunciation) as practiced in India.
He said Osho had a new vision of sannyas, which is a way of life of meditation and creativity.
Keerti has made several trips to Malaysia over the past few years and has initiated more than a hundred people into the movement.
Keerti said the Neo-Sannyas movement began in 1970 in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India, in the presence of Osho, whose 75th birthday falls on Dec 11.
Keerti also conducted a five-day meditation camp from Sept 22 to 26 in New Delhi alongside fellow sannyasin Ma Dharm Jyoti. Keerti and Jyoti were among the first to be initiated by Osho and are now conducting meditation camps on their own.
