Meredith Baron leads AXA XL’s controlled insurance programs in the North American construction industry

EXTON, Pa., December 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — AXA XL Insurance has advertised Meredith Baron to lead the controlled insurance programs business, which is part of AXA XL’s North American construction business. Ms. Baron is based in Exton, Pennsylvania and reports to Michael McKinleyHead of Construction Department Primary Accident Victim.

Commenting on the promotion, Mr McKinley said: “Meredith has dedicated her insurance career to servicing contractors, having joined the AXA XL construction team when it was just getting started. Our contractor clients rely on Meredith’s dedication, hard work and underwriting expertise. She has made many contributions to the company over the past 15 years and will now continue to grow our controlled insurance programs business in her new role as Underwriting Manager.”

Ms. Baron began her insurance career in 2008 as a technical specialist in AXA XL’s Surplus Lines Operations division. When AXA XL began its North American construction business in 2011, Meredith joined the Excess Casualty team as an Assistant Underwriter. In 2012 she was promoted to underwriting. She joined the Wrap Up team in 2015 as Senior Underwriter and has been involved in growing this business ever since. She is a Certified Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) and holds a degree from Temple University.

Controlled Insurance Programs (CIPs), also known as wrap-ups, can help contractors or project owners take control of critical elements of a project’s risk while providing an opportunity to maintain consistent coverage, reduce insurance costs, and streamline the claims management process for multiple contractors to consolidate a project.

AXA XL’s Construction Primary Casualty team helps contractors meet their workers’ compensation, commercial motor vehicle and other primary casualty insurance needs.
