NBA, Celtics Twitter react to Boston’s 125-98 destruction of Suns

It’s not often that the Boston Celtics dealt an offensive blow to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night as the Celtics beat the (then) first-ranked West Suns 125-98.
And to add insult to injury, that score disguises just how strong Boston made it in the first three quarters of the game as the Celtics rose by as much as 45 points in what was said to be an open battle between the two conference leaders the night of Chris Paul’s return from an ongoing heel injury that sidelined the veteran point guard for a month.
Let’s take a look at what the NBA and Celtic’s Twitter had to say about the blowout win.

Not sure if 2 Smart & 1 Blake 3s was how you expected this game to start…

The Chris Paul steal ends Jaylen Brown’s streak after 97 minutes without a turnover.

Jaylen Brown has been UBER aggressive so far tonight.

Kornet, who already has a big dunk, hits three suns for an offensive rebound, finishing with a Brogdon 3.
Still valuable.— Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) December 8, 2022
Malcolm Brogdon changes everything

This is only the second time Blake has played without a break of more than 3 days
He played on 10/22 and again on 10/24… he played 15 minutes in those two games combined
Let’s see what 1 game a week Blake has in the tank tonight!

That’s a horrible phone call from Tony Brothers…he couldn’t possibly see that given his positioning

Kornet knocks away alley-oop passes to Ayton. Derrick White follows a slam. Blake Griffin 3 pointer.
Celtics of 19. Gosh.— Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) December 8, 2022
Derrick White is only 1 of 5 but still has a great half.

That ball movement that ended with Tatum missing the shot was still unreal, they’re so connected. I’m always impressed by this team that says a lot considering how they played.

You. tipping. To play. Defense. With. Your. Face.
The NBA needs to get rid of this crap. And I’m saying that as someone who’s watched several Celtics do this fairly regularly.

The Celtics lead the Suns 69-42 at halftime.
27 points is the biggest half-time lead of the season.
42 points are also the fewest they have allowed in the 1st half this season.
69 points are nice!— Max Lederman (@Max_Lederman) December 8, 2022
If the Celtics hold on, they’ve beaten every team in the Western Conference Top 6 to date (the Suns, Pelicans, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Kings and Mavericks).

Play like a draw. Play right. ball movement

Blake Griffin’s legs were holding up pretty well after 32 minutes on Monday night.
— Brian Robb (@BrianTRobb) December 8, 2022
OK, now that’s weird
The Celtics are ridiculous

The Celtics are seven points away from doubling the Suns.

The gap between the Celtics and the rest of the league is incredible right now. Boston has one hell of a chip on their shoulder this season. #BleedGreen

Jaylen checks out after a meaningless 1:54 of the 4Q. I’m not sure why he was even in the game. #Celts #To sunbathe
