NBA Injury Report, December 16: Updates for Rudy Gobert, Draymond Green, LeBron James, more

We have 10 games on Friday’s NBA schedule, anchored by ESPN’s doubleheader. Here’s a look at the injury report of the day, along with relevant fantasy and betting implications.
NBA Injury Report: December 16
Atlanta Hawks vs. Charlotte Hornets
Clint Capela (Calf) – AUS, expected to be out for 1-2 weeks
Without Capela, Onyeka Okongwu will be a nice DFS game for the Hawks.
Gordon Hayward (shoulder) – Available
PJ Washington (personal) – OUT
To update – Hayward is in for the Hornets.
To update – Washington was ruled out over a personal issue, opening up several minutes on the wing even with Hayward returning. McDaniels starts in Washington’s place.
Hayward hopes to return to court. When he does, he takes a few minutes off Kelly Oubre Jr. and Jalen McDaniels.
Sacramento Kings versus Detroit Pistons
Kevin Hurter (ankle) – available
Davion Mitchell (illness) – OUT
To update – Huerter is there for the Kings.
To update – The disease bug bites again and this time Mitchell is the one affected. De’Aaron Fox is in line for big minutes when the backup point guard is out.
If Huerter is in this game, Harrison Barnes and Malik Monk should see more side time for Sacramento.
Orlando Magic vs. Boston Celtics
Robert Williams (knee) – Available
Al Horford (personal) – available
Marcus Smart (illness) – Available
To update – Smart is included, which was somewhat unexpected given the timing of his addition to the report. Williams will have limited his minutes.
To update – Horford is in, so Griffin may not have much run in this game.
To update – Smart was included in the report with an illness and these tend to go a certain way with timing. Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White are good filler games, with Smart being limited.
Williams is expected to return to the pitch but Blake Griffin still appears to be in the rotation if Horford is out.
Indiana Pacers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
No significant everyday injuries for either team at this point.
Golden State Warriors vs Philadelphia 76ers
Stephen Curry (shoulder) – AUS, expected to miss a month
Andrew Wiggins (groin) – OUT
Draymond Green (square) – OUT
Klay Thompson (knee) – available
To update – Thompson is in and will start for the Warriors.
To update – Green is out, so the 76s keep winning on the bet lines here. Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris should have big games.
To update – Thompson was added to the report as questionable, and the Warriors could just end up betting on that game.
Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga are key factors in this rotation, especially with Curry now out. Green missing time could mean more minutes for Kevon Looney.
Tobias Harris (rear) – OUT
To update – Harris was expelled.
Harris showed up late with an old issue. When he’s not playing, the Sixers are likely using PJ Tucker, Daniel House and Georges Niang more on the wing.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors
Seth Curry (thigh) – Available
Royce O’Neale (personal) – available
Patty Mills (illness) – OUT
To update – Curry is in for the nets.
To update – Mills was ruled out on Friday.
Joe Harris and Cam Thomas will see more playing time if Curry and Mills are ruled out. Thomas seems more of a value play in DFS formats as Mills is dubious.
Gary Trent Jr. (square) – OUT
The Raptors shut out Trent Jr. fairly late with a quad issue. Toronto has now lost two key rotation pieces with him and Anunoby.
New York Knicks versus Chicago Bulls
No significant everyday injuries for either team at this point.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
D’Angelo Russell (knee) – OUT
Rudy Gobert (ankle) – OUT
To update – Russell is also out. Austin Rivers seems ready to go.
To update – Gobert’s out, which means Reid will likely start.
If Russell sits, Austin Rivers will likely get the point guard start again. Naz Reid would likely be the most important big man for Minnesota if Gobert is ruled out.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Dallas Mavericks
Maxi Kleber (knee, hamstring) – OUT, expected to be out for 6-8 weeks
Kleber will be sidelined for a while, so Christian Wood and Davis Bertans are trying to fill his minutes in the Dallas rotation.
Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Anthony Davis (rear) – probably
LeBron James (ankle) – probably
Both stars should be there for LA.
