SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The NBA is back and the reigning NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, will take on the Los Angeles Lakers in their home game Tuesday night at the Chase Center.
From “Ring Night” banners running across the arena to championship t-shirts carefully placed on each seat, preparations are in full swing to welcome fans back to the Chase Center for the Warriors’ home opener To be called.
Kevin Webb is a Warriors fan who came all the way from New York to watch Tuesday night’s game with his dad.
“So excited, the team has been working really hard on this, I can’t wait to see what happens,” Webb said.

It’s the Warriors’ first game since winning their seventh NBA championship in June.
“I’ve just been very lucky, the team has been so on track for the last ten years, they’ve been out for a couple of seasons and it just felt really good to see them again,” he said.
Ahead of Tuesday’s home game, players will be honored with their championship ring and the team’s championship banner will also be unveiled in a special ring ceremony at 6:30pm

Shooting guard Klay Thompson says he wants to take it all in.
“I’m so happy that Chase Center won a championship, it’s going to be a special, special night that Krieger fans will never forget,” Thompson said. “I have no idea what the rings look like but it’s going to be so cool and I’ll try to enjoy every single second of it.”
Fans without tickets to the game have two other free options.

A free concert by The Kid Laroi will be held at 1:30 p.m. on the UCSF Mission Bay campus to help kick off the NBA home opening
Then Fan Fest starts in Thrive City at 4:30 p.m. with live music, games and those huge monitors where you can watch the game outside.
A brand new cupcake shop called the “Cupcakin’ Bake Shop” will also be open on its first day in Thrive City from 11am to 9pm to capitalize on the massive crowds that will flood the area.

Fan Fast also allows fans to virtually try on the championship ring in a new augmented reality experience.
“It’s going to be crowded, it’s going to be crazy, it’s going to be amazing, great energy, great fans, lots of blues and yellows, it’s going to be great,” Webb said.
The Chase Center is asking everyone attending the game to arrive early and be in your seats by 6:30 p.m. for the ring ceremony.
Ticketed fans will receive a free Ring Night shirt.
