Sheridan tops Forbes Canada’s list of Best Places to Work

OAKVILLE, UP, January 25, 2023 /CNW/ – Forbes Magazine today released its annual ranking of Canada’s Best Places to Work Sheridan is first on the list. This is the fourth time Sheridan was included in the Forbes ranking from 8th placeth place in 2022.
Sheridan sharpen Forbes Canada Best Employers List
The Forbes ranking includes 300 employers across 37 industries, ranging from large corporations to municipal financial institutions, post-secondary institutions and government agencies. Just another post-secondary institution in the top 10 – Carleton University at 6th.

2022, Sheridan Also included in Forbes list of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers – ranked 10thth overall and the highest of any college in Canada. This came shortly after Sheridans The Vice President for Inclusive Communities, Dr. Jane Ngobia, received a Silver Award of Excellence for Leadership in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion from the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP).
Employee-centric initiatives
In the past year Sheridan has launched a new e-performance and talent management portal for its employees to collaborate with their managers on and document performance and development plans. The online platform is another step in Sheridans Committed to empowering its community with human-centric technologies and digital processes that enhance its people’s collaboration and collaborative growth, while providing more opportunities to track their personal and professional progress and set goals for their future.
The institution has entered the second year of its Community Wellness Strategy. The Wellness Committee, represented by a diverse group of students and staff, brings the college community together through cultural celebrations, utilizing Wellness Champions and themed monthly wellness content, webinars and support that contribute to a sense of absolute wellness and quality of life . Through these initiatives Sheridan aims to raise awareness of wellness, increase participation in wellness events, and foster a sense of belonging and inclusion.
Sheridan is creating a flexible workplace strategy through a comprehensive review of his current workplace and what the future of work will be for the institution. The employees are at the center of the development of this strategy and are involved through various feedback options, surveys, focus groups and interviews.
Forbes methodology
The ranking is based on an independent, anonymous survey of 12,000 Canadian workers at companies with more than 500 employees. The study was conducted by Forbes in collaboration with market research partner Statista.
The survey included direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employer to friends and family. Other employers in the respective industry were also included in the employee evaluations, which attracted positive or negative attention. In addition, participants were asked to provide their opinions on a range of work-related issues such as working conditions, salary development potential and company image in relation to their current employer.
A total of 2,900 different organizations received ratings and recommendations. The final list presents the top 300. The final list lists the 300 employers that received the most recommendations. Read more about the Forbes poll and the methodology used.
