Suns at Warriors Prediction

After a quick two-game homestand, the Suns (20-21 SU, 20-21 ATS, 18-22-1 O/U) are back on the road and taking on the Warriors (202-SU, 19-21 ATS, 22 -16-2 O/U) tonight at the Chase Center.

The Suns’ injury report includes all but one starter, Mikal Bridges. Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Cam Payne are all officially out, so Phoenix is on his fourth-string point guard Duane Washington to lead the offense tonight. Torrey Craig, Deandre Ayton and Landry Shamet are all listed as questionable, which makes me doubt where their rating will come from if they are all seated.

Phoenix won their first two games against the Warriors this season, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they play that game and try to get healthy. The Warriors are also coming off back-to-back losses and are now playing the last game of their seven-game homestand before embarking on a long road trip. A vendetta against an exhausted Suns team, this game could be reminiscent of last night’s college football national championship. Oh, and the dubs could bring Steph Curry back tonight.

I mentioned that I don’t know where Phoenix’s goals will come from, which is why I want their team to stay under 108.5 overall. They are the only team in the league not to break the 100 point mark since the start of the new year. Their offensive rating is also the worst in the league and they are bottom in points per game, with an average of just 93.8 in their last five games.

PICK: Warriors -11.5, Sun’s team total UNDER 108.5

Magic at Trail Blazers Prediction

The Trail Blazers (19-20 SU, 20-17-2 ATS, 17-20-2 O/U) return home to take on the Magic (15-26 SU, 21-19-1 ATS, 21-19 -1 O) to compete /U) after a terrible three-game road trip.

The Blazers went 0-3 on this road trip, losing to the Timberwolves, Pacers and Raptors. They shot less than 32 percent from deep and less than 45 percent from the field in those games. Coming home now, where roleplayers often shoot significantly better, I would expect those numbers to go back to the mean. Portland’s road and home splits are pretty drastic, ranging from 19th offensive rating and 16th defensive rating when he’s on the road to fifth on offense and 17th on defense when he’s at home is.

However, looking at their past five home games, the Blazers have the best defense in the league. This is also a tough schedule for the Magic, who are back-to-back after losing and failing to cover against the Kings last night and playing their fourth game in six nights. Expect the Blazers to pull off a big win at home.

PICK: Trailblazer -7.5

Pistons at 76ers Prediction

The Pistons (11-32 SU, 19-21-3 ATS, 25-17-1 O/U) and 76ers (24-15 SU, 23-16 ATS, 23-16 O/U) meet for the second game Home and Away Miniseries.

The Sixers beat the Pistons 123-111 in Detroit on Sunday and now return to the Wells Fargo Center as a 12.5-point favorite. That’s a big range, but I like putting the points in the 76s. Detroit will be without its top scorer Bojan Bogdanovic, who has been the subject of trade talks in recent days, and Jalen Duren. With Cade Cunningham and Marvin Bagley III already eliminated, the Pistons’ rotation tonight will be pretty thin and points will be scored at premium. Isaiah Livers could return tonight but that doesn’t get me anywhere.

On the Sixers side, Joel Embiid is listed as a questionable tonight. Playing or not, Philly should be able to face Detroit for the third and final time this season. Lay down the points with the Sixers!

SELECT: 76er -12.5
